Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DO I GO ABOUT SELECTING A BURIAL LOT?

Call Rachel Dearborn of Landmark Surveys at 860-875-8204. She will make an appointment to meet you at the cemetery to locate plots that are available for purchase.

DO I GET A DEED FOR MY PURCHASE?

Yes, the Town Clerk will mail a Cemetery Deed to the purchaser, usually within one month of contract and full payment of the plot.

WHAT IF I MOVE AWAY AND NO LONGER WANT MY PLOT?

The Cemetery Association may or may not purchase back your unused plot. Each request is considered individually. If the Trustees agree to repurchase the plot, the maximum reimbursement would be the original purchase price paid by the owner.

WHAT IS PERPETUAL CARE?

A portion of the money from your lot purchase is invested so that monies will be available to maintain the grounds continually.

HOW CAN I FIND WHERE SOMEONE IS BURIED IN ELLINGTON?

Write to P.O. Box 75, Ellington, CT 06029 or email Heidi Cerrigione heidi@doofusmusic.com the full name and approximate date of death. We will research the location and include a map showing which section of the cemetery.

Additional information can be researched at the Town Clerk’s office at Town Hall.
